Hello Year 3!
I’m really looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday. I wonder what you’ve been up to over the summer holidays and what you’re looking forward to learning about in Year 3.
We’re going to start the year by reading a great book called ‘Gregory Cool’, it’s about a boy who moves to Tobago to live with his grandparents and finds it a bit tricky getting used to his new life. Have you ever been anywhere that felt new and strange?
In maths we’re going to be having a think about what we know about numbers. How can you group numbers to make counting quicker? Can you have a go at counting in 1s, 10s and 100s? Maybe even in 1000s or 10,ooos or 100,ooos?
We’re also going to be exploring Herne Hill in the first weeks back at school. What do you think we could do to make it an even more fun and interesting place to live for children like you?
I can’t wait to hear your ideas!
